God Still Does Miracles: A Testimony of Spiritual Awakening
“Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?” Galatians 3:5
A Life Changed by Grace
I wasn’t always a Bible junkie or a prayer warrior. For more than thirty years of adult life I was spiritually asleep. I went to church occasionally, did a few good deeds, but mostly lived on my own terms. My Dad said, “You can be anything you want to be – you can do anything you set your mind to.” That sounds great but is not true.
I didn’t read the Bible. I didn’t pray. And I definitely didn’t think I needed anything from God.
I was in charge—or so I thought.
Then God stepped in.
One Question That Changed Everything
In the summer of 1994, my son wrote me a letter during his Campus Crusade (CRU) summer project. In it he asked:
“Dad, do you know where you stand before the Lord, and do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?”
That simple question pierced me. It exposed everything I had been ignoring.
Soon after, I visited the church he was attending on his summer project and heard a sermon that rattled me a bit. The pastor asked:
“If you don’t know where you stand with the Lord, why not?”
“Are you the spiritual head of your family?”
It felt like he was speaking directly to me.
I could no longer run from what God was doing in my life.
Surrendering to Something Greater
A few days later, I totally surrendered. I prayed—honestly, for the first time in years:
“You win, Lord—but You’re going to have to help me. I can’t do this on my own.”
That prayer marked the beginning of a new life.
I began to pray every morning—longer and more earnestly. I developed a hunger for Scripture I had never felt before. I didn’t want to skim it. I wanted to know it. Understand it. Live it.
The Miracle of Transformation
God didn’t change me overnight like He has some people. But day by day He transformed my heart and purpose.
That transformation was nothing short of a miracle.
In the thirty years since, my life has become a testimony to God’s power to redeem and restore.
I went from avoiding the Bible to loving it, from prayerlessness to a daily life of intercession.
From New Believer to Christian Author
Eventually, that hunger to know God led me to seminary studies—not to become a pastor, but to grow in wisdom. Out of that passion came a new calling: to write books that help others find the same truth, clarity, and hope I’ve found in Jesus.
Today, through Get Wisdom Publishing, I’ve authored more than 20 Christian books to equip others with biblical insight and practical spiritual tools.
